Week of 2/1/10-2/5/19 (3Q- Week 3)

8th Graders,


Congratulations, you made it through Swing Dance. I have to say, this is the most into Swing Dance that any 8th grade class has ever been. As a result, many of you tested really well. Your Swing grade will show up on Pinnacle soon. I plan to post the best dances of 2010 on the Swing Page this week. Congrats if your dance is chosen....

*Please go the Strength Training Page on my website and download the Strength Training Log. You will be using it throughout the next 2 weeks.

WHAT UNIT ARE WE IN?
Since we have a real short 2 week unit, I wanted to try and come up with the perfect activity to do for 2 weeks and decided that Strength Training is perfect. I know that we have done Strength Training this year, however, Strength Training is an activity you should be doing year round anyway. As much as I can get you in the weight room, the better.

Please go to the Strength Training Page and download the Strength Training Log. Also, for brand new students entering my class, I would like you to also download the Weight Room Etiquette and Rules handout. Put all of these behind Tab #2.

CRATE CARRYING
The 3rd Quarter crate carriers have all been selected. I will finalize the list on my crate carrying link. Please check and make sure that I have all the names correct.
This is a big job so please be responsible. Keep them nice and organized in the locker rooms.

WHAT IS OUR RUN THIS WEEK?
This week we will be doing the 1-2-1 run. I believe that we have only done this particular run once this year. To read all about it, click here.

WHAT FITNESS ACTIVITY ARE WE DOING THIS WEEK?
More than likely, we will be doing a team pedometer fitness activity. I will give more details later in the week.

DID YOU FILL OUT YOUR E-LOGS?
e-Run Log: Yes, make sure that you fill out the e-Mile run log for last week's run. It needs to be completed by end of day Tuesday.

e-Fitness Log: Good news, you no longer have to fill this out. You will receive 2 points of extra credit every week that you do fill it out which will be applied to you fitness grade.

IS HOMEWORK ASSIGNED THIS WEEK?
Yes, HW #1 has been posted on your 8th Grade HW Page. It is due on Friday, 2/5 at Roll Call. Please only turn in the questions, not the article.

ARE THERE ANY ASSIGNMENTS DUE THIS WEEK?
Yes, you need to download your Strength Training Log and put behind Tab #3 (old students) and Tab #2 (new students).
